In 2007 Spring Creek Off Road held our first ever Mud Bog Championship Series. It was a fun filled eight months, filled with mishaps & lessons to be learned. The first lesson we learned was that we have some pretty fast trucks coming out here to race! The second would have to be never trust the weather man! In the end, we overcame the obstacles & learned a lot about mud bogs to bring you the best Mud Bog Show in the Houston Metro area!
On March 22, 2008 Spring Creek Off Road will be kicking of the 2008 season with a whole new look! For starters there are now three pits; one for ATV's, one for tractor tires, and a D.O.T. pit for all the rest of you guys & gals! REGISTRATION BEGINS AT 11 AM AND WILL CLOSE AT 3 PM. A MANDATORY DRIVER'S MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 3:45 PM. RACES WILL START PROMPTLY AT 4PM.
The ATV pit was designed with help from a fellow ATV rider who also competes in a lot of ATV bogs. It is a deep water pit with a muddy bottom.
The tractor tire pit is last year's Outlaw/X-treme pit and has been worked & stirred to make it good & nasty! Last year, Ray Brunner set a track record of 6.462 seconds in this pit!
And last, but certainly not least, the D.O.T. pit (last year's stock/modified pit *pics above & below*) has been modified to be easier to maintain. We accomplished this by draining the pit, digging all the mud out, cutting a new bottom with the help of Richard's dozer, & laying a 4 inch base of reinforced concrete in the bottom. The concrete bottom will help us maintain a very consistent pit year 'round. During the 2007 season, Alex Noll (pic below) held the track record for this pit at 9.19 seconds in his early 70's Ford.
